WARNING!!!!

Someone has reported being suspended due to an userpic. Best to save icons of questionable content to your harddrive and delete them from your account. This journal was suspended for a userpic of seemingly underage situations. More then likely a Doujin scan depicting the characters a bit younger then normal or chibified.

Well damn. =[ None of my icons are particularly offensive/pedo-ish, but this is still worrying. Seconding the curiosity: who reported the ban? :O It would be silly if people were just getting their panties in a knot over a rumor.

Holy GOD this is getting kind of ridiculous. I'm all for the war against pedophiles but when they don't do their homework and delete random accounts and communities that are no related, then it is getting out of hand.

I am as well and [info]liz_marcs has been dealing with the actual people behind this. Her post link can be found in my template. Sadly as of now we can't do anything legally as Six Apart is cooperating with them on this and thus are allowed to ban all accounts deemed to break TOS and they are making certain to word their letters to people to show they are breaking TOS in someway and thus deleted.

The only ray of hope is that somehow a knowledgeable person is able to pin these Warriors with obstruction of justice as it is unclear on if they are truly affiliated with a law enforcement organization or not. For their attack was announced in advance on their blog and thus true predators had time to hide before they came in with their witch hunt.

Can you provide a link to where this info. is from?

If this is true, it is very different (and much more serious) than the previous threat, which had been linked to searchable features, such as user interest.

I think it's important to get all the facts in order, so we know how best to fight back.

I've been using the links in my template to keep tabs and I warn on the userpic as several people have mentioned that some of the comms had questionable icons as well as hot word interests. One of the lists of banned also warn as a tip to remove userpics as well as interests as both can be used against you if they stumble on you from a user interest and your default icon is of a young anime girl in a revealing short skirt.

But I don´t understand...in the home page, it says they are proud of the number of accounts and communities created since 1999. So that now they are deleting people for that reason? I think there´s a contradiction :/ Almost all the "LJ world" is formed by fans and their fandoms so I can´t see the sense of all of this x__x

I think from page 10 of the comments, on is all complaints about how LJ has handled this. Especially the lack of response. So, for those of you who have already commented-- Rock On.

Oh, and if you try calling 6A, they don't answer you. At all. But, they do allow you to leave a message! How nice! Many of my friends and I have already left messages that basically say "Hey. the LJ Community is waiting for a response. And we are pissed." No names/numbers or anything, but we figure if they have to go through and delete a hell of a lot of irate messages about the lack of response, then hey, we may just get one. *sigh*
